100 KLD Sewage Treatment Plant – MBR Technology
MBR combines conventional biological treatment (aeration) with membrane separation (submerged hollow-fiber or flat-sheet UF). The membrane replaces the secondary clarifier and produces very low-TSS permeate suitable for reuse — significantly reducing footprint and delivering higher quality effluent.
Process Flow (MBR) — Sequence
MBR eliminates need for a large secondary clarifier. Membranes require periodic backwash & CIP; design includes membrane room, permeate pumps, and chemical dosing for CIP.

Design daily flow (Qd) = 100,000 L/day • Operating hours = 20 hours/day • Design hourly flow Qh = 5,000 L/hr.
Influent BOD (assumed) = 300 mg/L. Target permeate quality: TSS < 1 mg/L, low turbidity, suitable for toilet flushing & high-quality reuse (verify by lab).
