Ultrafiltration (UF) Plants — 1,000 to 10,000 LPH

High-efficiency Ultrafiltration systems using PES / PVDF membranes for turbidity & colloidal removal, RO pre-treatment, STP polishing and ETP pre-ZLD. Skid options: MS powder coated & SS 304. Enquire for site-specific design — technical offer in 5 minutes.

Membranes: PES / PVDF (Imported) Skids: MS (Powder Coated) & SS 304 Capacities: 1000 / 2000 / 5000 / 10000 LPH

Where UF is used

  • • After Carbon Filter — removal of fine turbidity & colloids
  • • Before RO — protect membranes from fouling and reduce SDI
  • • STP Treated Water Polishing — produce clear, low-turbidity effluent for reuse
  • • ETP before ZLD — reduce solids & improve RO performance in ZLD trains
  • • Turbidity Removal from Borewell & Surface Water

Key Features & Technical Snapshot

Membrane Type
PES / PVDF (high flux, low fouling)
Skid Construction
MS Powder Coated & SS 304 options (both available)
Backwash
Automatic Backwash & Air Scour options
Cleaning
CIP provision – chemical cleaning for organics/inorganics
Typical Design Parameters:
  • Flux: 50–150 L/m²·hr (depends on feed & module)
  • Operating Pressure: 1.0 – 3.5 bar
  • Permeate Turbidity: < 0.5 NTU (typical)
  • Recovery: 80–95% (configurable)

How Ultrafiltration Works (Simple)

  1. Pre-filtration (PSF / ACF / Cartridge) to remove suspended solids & chlorine
  2. Feed pumps maintain design flow & pressure into UF modules (PES / PVDF)
  3. UF membranes separate colloids, bacteria and suspended solids — permeate collected
  4. Periodic backwash & CIP keep modules clean; permeate goes to RO feed or final use

Benefits of Our UF Systems

  • • Consistent low turbidity & SDI reduction for RO protection
  • • High flux PES/PVDF membranes with long life
  • • Modular design — easy capacity upgradation
  • • Low chemical use (except periodic CIP)
  • • Quick on-site service & spare parts availability

Frequently Asked Questions

What feed water quality is needed for UF?

UF handles turbidity & colloids; pre-filtration (PSF/ACF) is recommended. UF reduces SDI and turbidity before RO or reuse.

How often to CIP UF membranes?

CIP frequency depends on organics & fouling. Typical CIP intervals range from weekly to monthly depending on feed and backwash efficiency.

Are PES / PVDF membranes better?

Yes — PES / PVDF imported membranes offer higher flux and chemical resistance. We specify membrane type based on feed characteristics.

Can UF be used as final drinking water filter?

UF removes turbidity and bacteria but not dissolved salts. For potable use, UF followed by disinfection and remineralization is recommended.
